9th Birthday Party - First (and last!) Campout Sleepover

Riley celebrated his 9th birthday with seven of his friends in a campout-style sleepover bash (aka - what the heck were we thinking?!).  The crazy kids slept from 11:30pm until 2:00am and THAT WAS IT!  Mom spent most of the next day napping on the couch!

Pokemon and nerf guns
Gathered sticks on a hike for roasting marshmallows
Pokemon battles
Apparently a rare card
Trouble
Vultures
Birthday apple pie (Grandma White's recipe)
Watching Angry Birds (the most mellow portion of the party)

Happy Halloween 2016

Meet Jason, from the Rick Riordan series (aka - easiest costume ever!)

It's SuperDog and his master!

We celebrated our third Halloween in Scotts Valley this year.  Hard to believe how quickly time flies!  We got rained on again (like our first year) towards the end of the night.  Bidwell took his child-protection job very seriously and Riley had a good time trick-or-treating with his friend Nathan.

The baby stayed cozy and warm and followed my instructions to NOT have an October 31st birthday!

32 and 36 + Baby Showers

Lots of growth this month between weeks 32 and 36!  Plus, I finished up work (alleluia), had two baby showers, and am enjoying this family-rich transitional time as we wait for a special and long-anticipated arrival.  <3

20 and 24

24 weeks
20 weeks

Can't really see much of a difference in these two photos (maybe tighter vs. looser top), but I sure can feel a difference.  Baby boy has moved up a bit and no longer pummels my bladder.  He prefers the kick/headbutt combo now and will respond when Riley taps on my belly.  He's awake when I'm awake first thing in the morning and likes to wiggle at night while I pass out on the couch.  We're still chugging along with trail runs/hikes (with pee breaks every 15 minutes), weekly bootcamp, and swimming.

Only 2 1/2 months until maternity leave - can't wait!

Mile

After much talk about running, Warren's Stanford record, and watching the Olympic trials, we decided to head to the track to log Riley's first timed mile.  No stopping, even pace throughout, and 8:35.  Impressive!!
